Alongside performing and teaching the Highland bagpipe, Scott also composes original music.

Some pieces are Scott's own compositions, while others have been written in collaboration with his good friend Ian Macpherson BEM. Their collaborative work brings together the sound of the Highland bagpipe with Ian's concert band writing and arranging.

The Piper's Farewell

Written in honour of military pipers, The Piper's Farewell tells the story of the pipers who played through war and of the music that ultimately welcomed them home.

The concert band version combines Highland bagpipes with Ian's evocative arrangement and an accompanying film created to bring the story behind the music to life.

Following the original concert band version, The Piper's Farewell is now also available for Highland bagpipes and traditional British brass band.

Written in honour of military pipers, the piece tells the story of the pipers who played through war and of the music that ultimately welcomed them home. The brass band arrangement brings a new warmth and power to the work while retaining the Highland pipes as its central voice.

Echoes of the Glen celebrates Scotland's landscapes and the timeless sound of the Highland bagpipe carrying across the glens.

The piece combines traditional Scottish musical character with the colours and scale of a concert band arrangement.

Call of the Thistle

A 4/4 march blending traditional Highland piping with a modern lift and drive.

The title takes inspiration from Scotland's thistle, a symbol of resilience and pride, and from the call of home felt by Scots wherever they may be in the world.

Spirit of Alba

Spirit of Alba is an energetic 6/8 jig combining Highland pipe melodies, rhythmic percussion and rich concert band scoring.

From lively ceilidh-inspired rhythms to broad, soaring ensemble passages, the piece captures both the energy and atmosphere of Scotland in an uplifting musical journey.

Oundle School

Composed & Arranged by Scott Morton

Originally written as a simple pipe tune for Scott's pupils at Oundle School, allowing young pipers to learn it quickly and enjoy performing together.

Scott later arranged the piece for concert band, enabling the school's CCF Marching Band to perform alongside the Pipe Band as one larger ensemble.
